Jeff Fassett

Jeff Fassett has held the position of program Director for the Rocky Mountain Climbing School since 1994. Jeff is an AMGA certified rock instructor.

Jeff has been climbing and guiding in the Aspen area since 1989 and has spent most of his winters teaching basic mountaineering, technical ice climbing, corporate rope courses and team building from the Southwest to Vermont.

Jeff has climbed extensively throughout the American West. Jeff's climbing resume' includes numorious technical ascents from big walls in California, to the desert towers of the Southwest, and climbing ice in Vermont.

Jeff is a "retired" mortgage banker.

 

 

Dick Jackson

IFMGA mountain guide Dick Jackson has owned and operated Aspen Expedition/Rocky Mountain Climbing School since 1976.

Dick Jackson, an IFMGA/AMGA Guide has guided climbs and ski trips extensively around Colorado, Utah and the West as well as the European Alps, the Himalaya, Alaska and Ecuador.

Dick has climbed and skiied extensively in the Colorado Rockies, the Himalaya, Alaska, and the European Alps. He was on the first American summit ascent of Himulchuli, Nepal in 1984. Dick has several first technical ascents to his credit in Colorado and Chamonix, France.

He is also a USHGA certified paragliding tandem instructor, flying tandem and teaching paragliding. He is one of the owners of Aspen Paragliding. Dick is also an adventure photographer.

 

 

Kurt Lageschulte

Kurt is the Director of our Winter Program, overseeing all aspects of our Ski Mountaineering, Ice Climbing and Winter Mountaineering trips.

He also spends considerable time in the mountains guiding Alpine Mountaineering, Rock Climbing and Ski Mountaineering. Kurt is a Lead Guide for Aspen Expeditions and holds several notable certifications: he is an AMGA Certified Ski Guide, a PSIA Level 3 Telemark Instructor and Level 2 Alpine Instructor.

Kurt has extensive knowledge of the 10th Mountain and Braun system huts as well as the backcountry around Aspen.

Prior to joining the Aspen Expeditions team, Kurt has worked throughout the mountains of California and Colorado as an Instructor for various outdoor programs, including the Colorado Outward Bound School, teaching alpine mountaineering skills to students on extended wilderness expeditions.

Kurtäs passions are skiing the high peaks around Aspen, rock climbing throughout the West, and seeking ways to improve his ‘decentä stir-fry recipe.

 

 

Brian McCall

Brian began working with Aspen Expeditions in 1998 after having guided for several years in the Crested Butte area.

His personal and professional climbing and backcountry skiing experiences have covered many areas, from New England to Califorina over the past ten years. Brian is a Lead Guide for Aspen Expeditions, and guides Ski Mountaineering, Ice Climbing, Rock Climbing and Alpine Mountaineering.

He is an American Mountain Guide Association certified Ski Guide and Rock Instructor.

 

 

Heidi Kloos

Heidi joined the Aspen Expeditions staff in the summer of 1997. Prior to that she has guided and instructed rock climbing in both northern Idaho and at Smith Rocks in Oregon.

Heidi has extensive experience guiding and teaching all levels of rock climbing, but specializes in teaching women and kids to climb.

When she is not guiding outdoors, she teaches indoor rock climbing and is also a PSIA Certified Alpine Level 2 Professional Ski Instructor at Snowmass Mountain.
